Tulsa Investment Firm Ranks in Top 50

Bridgecreek Investment Management LLC of Tulsa has been named as one of the top 50 investment firms based on average assets under management per client, according to Wealth Manager’s 2008 Top Dogs survey.

The July-August issue of the magazine ranks 478 wealth managers from 44 states, which have a total of $302 billion in assets under management.

Bridgecreek ranked No. 49 this year, up from No. 57 last year.

The eighth annual ranking found that the overall amount of assets under management has continued to grow, as have the number of investment firms managing the wealth.

“Despite the difficult market environment, this recognition speaks to our continued momentum, relative returns, and extreme loyalty to our clients,” said CEO and managing director Chuck Fuller in an e-mail.

Fuller founded the firm with Brian G. Carney, who is its chief investment officer and a managing director.

Bridgecreek manages total assets of $350 million and has 63 clients, giving it average assets under management per client of $5.5 million.

The minimum assets under management per client is $1 million.

Founded in 2004, Bridgecreek is a boutique money manager that focuses on investing funds for high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporations in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and Kansas.

Bridgecreek’s overall business philosophy is to have fewer clients and less bureaucracy so it can focus its time and energy searching for value in the marketplace and visiting with clients regularly, Fuller said last year.

Wealth Manager’s survey doesn’t include banks, broker-dealers, or trust companies. Overall assets under management for the 2008 Top Dogs range from $14.4 billion at the largest firm to $36 million at the smallest firm, according to the magazine.

Tulsa-based Gibraltar Capital Management Inc. was ranked No. 116 based on average assets under management of $2.5 million. Other Oklahoma companies included in the ranking were Oklahoma City—based firms Puckett Financial Advisors LLC at No. 329; Burns Advisory Group at No. 402; Retirement Investment Advisors Inc. at No. 447; and Edmond—based F.I.G. Financial Advisory Services Inc. at No. 467.
